Dr. Lindsey Bohard DVM, CVMA
Veterinarian

A native Pacific Northwesterner, Dr. Lindsey Bohard was born and raised in Albany, OR. Her lifelong love of animals and science inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine. She attended Eastern Oregon University where she received her Bachelors in Molecular Biology while playing volleyball. Dr. Bohard received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University. Go Beavs! She is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture for both large and small animals through Colorado State University. When she’s not helping animals in need, Dr. Bohard loves to read, dance, stay active in sports, watch the Beavers play, and spend time with her family. She has a fluffy boss cat named Miss Priss, a special needs cat named Squirrel, a guard cat named Chlaud, a silly sweet “bagel” named Brutus, a princess Shih Tzu named Aelin, and a naughty pony named Porter.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Kelsey was born and raised in western Washington State as the youngest of four. She spent her youth loving all animals, traveling the world, and living an active outdoor life. She played collegiate soccer and received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at Central Washington University. She and her husband moved to Central Oregon after college to enjoy all the wonderful things the area has to offer. Shortly thereafter she began volunteer work at the high volume high quality spay and neuter program (HVHQSN). She attended Central Oregon Community College’s Veterinary Technician program where she received her Associate of Applied Science – Veterinary Technician degree with honors. She was assistant instructor for the COCC vet tech program for two years where she taught anatomy, radiology, and assisted students with all veterinary nursing labs. She spent 5 years in a shelter medicine and HVHQSN setting prior to her work in private practice. She is a Fear Free Elite and Fear Free Shelter Certified professional who is most passionate about community education, Trap-Neuter-Return, and providing affordable spay and neuter options to help reduce pet overpopulation. She and her husband share their home in La Pine with an aussie mix, a shepherd mix, three fluffy cats, and lots-o-chickens.

Veterinary Assistant
Elizabeth was born and raised in La Pine Oregon. She has grown up around all types of animals from cattle all the way to ferrets. Elizabeth has always known that the veterinary field was for her and after she graduated from La Pine High School in 2018 she started going to school to become a veterinary assistant and then started in the veterinary field not long after that. Elizabeth became part of the Wickiup Animal Hospital team in March of 2022. She is planning on continuing her education in the world of equine medicine. When Elizabeth is out of the office she enjoys paddle boarding, traveling, competing in rodeos around Central Oregon, and spending time with her family. Elizabeth has a crazy crew of her own including her two dogs, two horses, and four cats.

Veterinary Assistant
Jess was born in Oregon but spent most of her younger years in Idaho with lots of travel between the two states. After her high school graduation, she moved back to Oregon to pursue new adventures and be closer to family. She began her journey into medicine by getting her CNA, but, soon after was introduced to pet med, and discovered a special connection to furry friends while caring for them. After moving to La Pine to be near her dad, she joined the WAH team in January of 2024. Jess has always loved animals, no matter how big or small. She has three dogs at home; Boogs (Old English Bulldog), Oakley (Black Retriever), and Rosie (Boxer), plus a little black cat named Fox. When Jess isn’t at the clinic, she likes to unwind with her family, usually playing games, going on trips with the dogs, spending time on the river, or homesteading with family in Eastern Oregon.

Veterinary Assistant

Emily is a born and raised Oregonian from Albany, OR who decided she had had enough of the valley rain and moved to La Pine in 2021 for some sun and snow. She is a life-long lover of animals and has been working in the veterinary field since 2018, though started her career in high school working for a boarding facility in Albany and gained a lot of insight and knowledge on dog behavior and body language. Emily has her Associates in Business and Companion Dog Studies from Bergin College and is also a local CPDT-KA certified dog trainer. She loves to put her Fear Free knowledge and Cooperative Care handling skills to use when working with nervous pets in the hospital to make sure they have the most positive experience they can. In her free time she enjoys reading, horseback riding, hiking and shed hunting for deer and elk antlers in the spring. Emily and her husband share their home with 3 dogs – Xana, a yellow Labrador Retriever who is a career changed service dog turned shed dog – Moab, a German Wirehaired Pointer who enjoys chukar hunting along with shed hunting, and Onyx, another German Wirehaired Pointer who was rescued from being an outdoor only dog and now enjoys snuggling on the couch along with hunting.

Julianne is from Lorane Oregon, a small town in the Willamette Valley. She grew up with cats, dogs, chickens, and goats. Julianne raised and showed Boer goats for 12 years in 4-H, and grew up riding horses as well. She moved to Central Oregon in 2022 for OSU-Cascades and the beautiful mountains, and just graduated with a degree in biology, and a minor in chemistry. She is in the process of applying to vet school. Julianne joined the Wickiup Animal Hospital team in July of 2024, and loves working with animals. She doesn’t have any pets at her apartment, but she has Arlo, a 14 year old Golden Retriever, Penny, a Catahoula leopard dog, and 3 cats (Maggie, Molly, and Jude) at home that she misses dearly. In her free time, she enjoys being outside – whether that’s hiking, camping, trail running, reading, or skiing.

Client Service Representative
After spending her childhood and early adult life moving over twenty times, Kaela fell in love with Central Oregon and decided to settle here with her then fiancé, their chocolate lab Layna, and fluffy Persian cat Beaker. They bought a home in La Pine in 2022, and got married in Central Oregon in the summer of 2025. After getting her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, Kaela discovered a fascination and passion in veterinary medicine while shadowing at a sea turtle rescue center during an internship. Shortly after, Kaela started her first job in the veterinary field at a small animal clinic in Washington state in 2015. Kaela started as a kennel attendant but worked her way into reception and even learned the ropes as a veterinary assistant. Kaela went on to eventually work as an ER Doctor’s Assistant at a veterinary emergency and specialty hospital. Kaela joined Wickiup Animal Hospital after six years working briefly in human medicine in a prosthetics and orthotics clinic, and is thrilled to be back to working with animals! In her downtime, Kaela enjoys spending time with her husband, enjoying all of the beauty that the area has to offer, and reading.
